Albemarle to increase prices of Saytex brominated flame retardants

Albemarle Corporation (NYSE: ALB), a leader in the development, manufacture and marketing of flame retardants, announced today that it will increase prices of SAYTEX(R) flame retardants on shipments beginning October 1, 2010, or as contracts allow in regions listed at the following rates:

SAYTEX(R) CP2000 (tetrabromo bisphenol A) by $0.40/kg globally
SAYTEX(R) 102E (decabromodiphenyl oxide) by $1.00/kg globally
SAYTEX(R) 8010 (decabromodiphenyl ethane) by $0.60/kg in EMEA and Americas

Albemarle's brominated flame retardants are part of the company's fire safety solutions within the polymer solutions business segment.
