Nizhnekamskneftekhim : 10th anniversary of polystyrene plant

This day, 10 years ago, in August, 2000, a new page was opened in the history of OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim: a decision was taken to construct the first polymer production unit. In 3 years period a formal opening of the First Polystyrene Unit by M. Shaymiev, the First President of the Republic of Tatarstan, took place.

After commissioning of the Second PS Unit (2005) and then the Third PS Unit (2008), OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim became the foremost manufacturer of polystyrenes in Russia. Since start-up date, the Plant produced 778 thousand tons of polystyrene for various applications.

In the long term, two new projects will be implemented at the Plant: ABS-Plastics and Expandable Polystyrene.
