Market characteristics
Oil and Gas Complex of Tatarstan is the basic sector of Tatarstan industry - 51, 9% of total volume of output, 86% of profit, about 28% of population employed. Priority industries in the republic are: oil processing, as well as chemistry and petrochemistry. The complex plays a determinative role in the foreign trade providing about 91% of the total volume of export of the Republic of Tatarstan. Manufacture of synthetic rubbers and tyres, plastics, synthetic resin and chemical and pharmaceutical production takes the largest part in the structure of chemical and petrochemical branch of the republic.
In accordance with the Program of development of the Oil and Gas Complex of the Republic of Tatarstan for the years 2010-2014 the number of large projects in the sphere of petrochemistry is going to be realized. Such as construction of the complex for treatment of natural gas into olefin and polyolefin, construction of the complex for production of fertilizers “ammonium”, as well as the project on increase of powers of the complex of oil-refining and petrochemical plants TANEKO up to 14 millions tones per year.
