Russian market of plastic sheets has lost its status of rapidly growing and developing market because of economic crisis. Full or partial freeze of many construction projects and decline in advertising industry seriously affected the market. According to experts, demand for products in some segments decreased up to 50%.
Low consumption and seasonal decline forced manufactures to reduce production. In the beginning of new season many market players switched theirs sales to the cottage construction - which wasn’t so much affected by the crisis. Market of plastic sheets partially managed to regain its previous status that brought optimism to all people concerned.
Nowadays we can analyze some results of the market performance at the crisis. Escalated business competition and tough pricing had different impact on market players. Suppliers of sheet materials, who had long-term contracts in construction, suffered least. Positive factor of the crisis is displacement of so-called “grey” import from the market.
These and some other issues will make the agenda of the CREON conference on October 19.
The main topics to be discussed at the conference are as follows:
Russian market of plastic sheets in the light of financial crisis;
Will it be possible to raise demand to the previous level?
How much did the market shrink and what is the situation at the existing plants?
Investment opportunities and concerns
