General information
The 5th International Chemical Summit organised by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Russian Chemists Union will take place from 25–26 March at the Renaissance Moscow Hotel. Every year the summit brings together about 200 heads of major Russian chemical companies and foreign delegates. The summit operator is the RCC Group information and consulting agency.
Role of chemical industry
Chemical and petrochemical producers supply feedstock to a number of important industries including medical, defense, construction and agricultural ones. The chemical and petrochemical industry accounts for nearly 10% of the Russian gross national product. More advanced conversion of raw materials is the main factor behind the transition to a knowledge-intensive economy. Growth in output and product expansion in the chemical and petrochemical industry has a synergetic effect on the consumer markets.
Participants
Presidents and CEOs of holding and private companies, heads of state bodies, leading academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences, representatives of foreign business participate in the Moscow International Chemical Summit every year. The summit opening ceremony and plenary session are attended by Moscow Mayor, Prime Minister of Tatarstan, ministers of the CIS countries, heads of trade associations and public organisations.
